Although LIBs are considered the main driver of green transport in the future, the truth is that the LIB production process is far from environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n<p>SONAGRE&#8217;s LIB projects industrialise on a large scale the success of processes developed by university laboratories funded by partner companies and\/or subsidiaries, enabling the production of LIBs using processed components from other LIBs as raw materials. This module will function as a pilot for construction and immediate operation and also is located in the municipality of Los Barrios (C\u00e1diz). The facility, with a floor area of 40,219 m2, is divided into three zones:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Raw material processing area: with three production lines occupying a total of 11,440 m<sup>2<\/sup> and a height of 20 m.<\/li>\n<li>Cell manufacturing and activation area: distributed over two floors with a surface area of 20,109 m<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li>Battery assembly area: includes chassis manufacturing and occupies 8,670 m2 with a height of 20 m.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The IDM design also includes a refrigerated container beach to ensure storage capacity for one year of production in three shifts at the IDM. This amounts to approximately 2,200 45-foot HCRF containers, representing around 30,000 m2 at TC3. The refrigerated Reefers warehouse is located on a plot of land close to the previous one, in the municipality of Los Barrios.<\/p>\n<p>With three work shifts, the IDM produces <strong>88,000<\/strong> LIB per year, equivalent to 52,800 tons of LIB weighing 600 kg.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"w-popup w-btn-wrapper The ports of Algeciras and Tanger-Med are essential in the trade value chain between the European Union and Africa. The industrial centers surrounding both infrastructures enjoy a competitive and even environmental advantage due to their easy access to the region&#8217;s transportation networks.<\/p>\n<p>The area of operation of SONAGRE\u2019s Giga Factory LIB Mar STROG&#8217;s complex is located entirely within the municipality of Los Barrios, between the A-381 highway and the R\u00edo Las Ca\u00f1as or Palmones. The area has an irregular shape, influenced by the river and the neighboring industrial estates, the Algeciras Bay Fiscal District, the Los Barrios railway station, and a semi-developed area south of the A-381 interchange at km 85.
